Title: Technology Enables High-quality Development of the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project |

Introduction: Xinqiang NIU, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, National Master of Engineering Survey and Design, is currently the Chief Scientist at CISPDR Corporation, Director of the Key Laboratory of Water Grid Project and Regulation of Ministry of Water Resources (in preparation), and Vice Chairman of the Hubei Provincial Association for Science and Technology. Prof. Niu Xinqiang has long engaged in the design and research of large-scale water conservancy and hydropower projects. He has presided over or participated in the design of more than 20 major national projects, including the Three Gorges Project, the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion, the Wudongde Hydropower Station, and the Yangtze-Hanjiang River Diversion Project. He has also led or contributed to over 100 national key technology R&D programs and special projects for major engineering initiatives. In recent years, Prof. Niu and his team have actively followed national strategy, playing a key role in the successful initiation of the Yangtze-Hanjiang River Diversion Project, which is a follow-up project for the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion. He has also been deeply involved in the Poyang Lake Water Resources Allocation Project and the Central Yangtze River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project, contributing to the high-quality development of the national water network. Prof. Niu has authored or co-authored five national and industry standards, and has published 11 monographs. He has received 5 Second-class National Science and Technology Progress Awards, 9 provincial and ministerial level Special Awards, the National May 1 Labor Medal, the FIDIC Centenary Outstanding Consulting Engineer Award, National Outstanding Professional and Technical Talent Award, and the Hubei Provincial Award for Outstanding Contribution to Science and Technology, among other honors. |
