It is a great honor to invite you to the 24th International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research Asia and Pacific Division Congress (24th IAHR-APD Congress) to be held in Wuhan, China, October 14-17, 2024.
The theme of 24th IAHR-APD Congress is “Water for a Changing Future”, emphasizing the urgent need to improve water science and technology to respond to a rapidly changing world and collaborate towards a sustainable future. Eight sub-themes focusing on water-related hazard and risk reduction, integrated water resources management, eco-hydraulics and environment, water-energy-food nexus, adaptation and resilience to climate change, smart water, sediment regulation and management, estuarine and coastal engineering have been proposed under the main theme. We are delightful to provide a platform to share experiences, promote discussion, and to present new knowledge, research results and developments in the field of water sciences and technologies.
Located in central China, Wuhan, is crowned as the “city of a hundred lakes”. The world’s 3rd longest river-the Yangtze River flows across the city and breeds valuable Chu culture with a history of 2700 years. With 165 rivers meandering through the land, and dotted with 166 lakes and 277 reservoirs, nature has endowed this city with rich water resources,breathtaking water landscapes and splendid water culture.
